Abstract

The progress in Internet, in network technologies and the rapidly growing of the number of the mobile devices have now resulted that both companies and individuals demanding information and services over mobiles environments, moreover they hope that these services will be provided fitted to their positioning or location context. Services and applications with these requirements could be develop with Location-Based Service (LBS).

In this paper an example of a LBS application that uses the GoogleMaps services is presented. This service or application is placed in a university environment. Both the architecture proposed and the technologies used to develop the application are explained.
