Part of the book series: Lecture Notes in Computer Science ((LNAI,volume 5914))

Abstract

The business and IT alignment acknowledged by enterprises as an important factor in achieving competitive advantage in the market is undergoing slight changes as it faces the challenges and requirements imposed by the Future Internet initiative. The goal to support the adaptation to the challenges and requirements is achieved by applying knowledge engineering (KE) to all three alignment layers: business, the “IT-Socket” and IT layer. Paper introduces approaches to support model transformation and translation – enabling multi-lingual environments on the business layer, the semantic workflow approach – enabling next generation IT infrastructure layer, and the IT-Socket approach for alignment.
