Abstract
The previous key management methods are inadequate for secure data communication in cluster-based routing scheme. Because the cluster head is changed at each round, it has to take the step of authentication or shared key setting with neighbor nodes. In addition, there happens a large overhead for secure communication if the mobility of nodes is considered. Accordingly, this study proposes a secure and efficient key management mechanism suitable for cluster-based routing protocol even when the nodes are moveable and new nodes are inserted frequently.
