Abstract

Managing heterogeneous data is a challenge for cultural heritage institutions as they host and develop various collections with heterogeneous types of material, described by different metadata schemas. In this paper, we propose an expressive mapping language for the mapping of XML-based metadata schemas to CIDOC CRM. We also show how these mappings can be used to transform metadata to CIDOC CRM data by considering the mapping of VRA Core 4.0 to CIDOC CRM.
