Abstract

Nowadays, a lot of Internet applications is using UDP protocol for data transport. Congestion control mechanisms built into TCP protocol in conjunction with the Active Queue Management mechanisms, during normal operation of the Internet network, favor UDP streams. The article investigates the influence of active queue menagement and scheduling algorithm on fairness of TCP and UDP data streams.
