Abstract

This paper presents a novel histogram-based reversible data hiding technique to embed secret data into gray-scale host image. This method utilizes the difference of the pixel values of the host image and the zero or the minimum points of the histogram of the difference image and modifies the pixel gray-scale values slightly to embed secret data into image. Experimental results show that the peak-signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) of the marked-image obtained by our method is above 50 dB. The computational complexity of embedding and extracting procedure of the proposed method is low. Also, the experimental results of the proposed method are compared with the experimental results of Lee et al.’s method and Ni et al.’s method.
