Abstract

The vector space model, for its simple method and quick processing speed, has been used widely in the retrieval system, but if used in Web articles retrieval, it can not distinguish the index entry in different places on the ability to express the theme of Web articles difference. In this paper, four level vector space model are proposed considering the characteristics of Web articles, giving full consideration to the index entries appear in the title, abstract, keywords and the location of the body weight, constructed a model of article representation and its similarity function, experiments show that The model is applied to Web articles retrieval, with the order of the output capability, high efficiency inquiry, and experiment with different positions through the weight changes, discussed the four-model range of reasonable values of the weights.
