Mobile Wireless Middleware, Operating Systems, and Applications (MOBILWARE 2010)

Abstract

This paper presents a quick prototyping of a mobile wireless sensor network (WSN) in healthcare applications that provides multiple interfaces with various access rights to different personnel involved in medical systems such as patients, healthcare providers, and system administrators. The prototype demonstrates a seamless access from constantly sensing patients’ vital signs to long term medical records stored in central database. A quick prototyping approach facilitates communications and understanding of the system requirements among the stakeholders and is a cost-effective way to build a functioning massive ubiquitous healthcare infrastructure.
