Zusammenfassung
Der Artikel stellt Aufbau, Funktionsweise und Anwendungen einer virtuellen Navigationsumge bung für die Simulation von Verkehrsvorgängen auf Binnenwasserstraßen und Küstengewässern vor. Schwerpunkt der Simulationsumgebung ist die ModelIierung der Dynamik von Schiffen in strömenden Gewässern sowie die wirklichkeitsnahe Nachbildung von Sensormessungen, wie Radar oder GPS. Durch Kopplung mit einern Navigationssystem zur autonomen Bahnführung von Schiffen können dessen Funktionen, wie integrierte Sensorsignalverarbeitung, automatische Kursregelung und Leitlinienplanung, unter realitätsnahen Bedingungen umfassend und gefahrlos erprobt werden.
