Abstract

We present a system for real-time metering of aggregate power consumption and appliance level loads in homes. The power consumption data is collected by sensors in a multi-hop IP-based wireless sensor network. The data is stored at a central server which prepares various representations of the data to be viewed with a web browser. The findings of a longitudinal user evaluation of our system by seven households testify for a successful design and implementation.
