Abstract

This article discusses current results in automatic Information Extraction (IE) of temporal markers from hospital Patient Records (PRs) texts. The aim is to construct a temporal sequence of important facts about phases in disease development, by recognising the main events that are described in the anamnesis (case history). We consider the conceptual structure of "episode", which is designed as a feature-value template enabling the further formalisation of the case history via generation of simple Conceptual Graph (CG). Evaluation results assessing the recognition of temporal markers are presented as well.
