Abstract

The fingerprint feature extraction and matching are significance in fingerprint identification system. This paper uses Gabor filterbank to extract both global and local features of the fingerprints. Then apply simulated annealing algorithm to match these features identified from fingerprint images. The preliminary results suggest that simulated annealing algorithm is simple and effective to obtain satisfactory results with adjustable parameters. The results also show the feasibility and characteristics of simulated annealing algorithm in fingerprint matching and provide reference of simulated annealing algorithm application in other related research areas.
