Abstract

This paper introduces the application of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) based on ZigBee in the binary control of sequence control in power plant. And the process of the chemical water treatment is taken as an example to explain the system architecture and the problem. As the signals of binary control are transmitted through wireless channel and the process is implemented according to the logic sequence, the problem caused by delay is described in detail which isn’t encountered in cable networks and a solution based on delay estimation is proposed to settle it. Then on condition that the network is constrained in single-hop, the analysis of the method is carried out and the merits are also presented.
