Abstract

The system throughput of wireless communication networks can be greatly improved when network coding is employed. In this paper, we investigate precoding technologies for bi-directional MIMO transmission with network coding with the objective to minimize the signal error ratio (SER) of the system. An iterative bisection algorithm is devised and employed at the relay node to generate the optimal precoder for the multicast stage. The proposed scheme exhibits quick and good convergence behaviors. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme obtains high diversity gain, and hence tightly keeps the system SER to the lower bound.
