Abstract

As the booming of digital TV, viewer’s TV watch experience could be extremely valuable. Thanks to the fast developing IT techniques and solutions in the digital TV field, now we can run customized applications either inside the digital TV or at the viewer’s set-top boxes to do what we want. In this paper, we introduce a new approach called Decisional DNA Digital TV that enables the digital TV to capture, reuse, and share the viewer’s TV watch experience and preference; and we present the features, architecture and initial experimental results of our work. Decisional DNA is a domain-independent, flexible, smart knowledge representation structure which allows its domains to acquire, reuse, evolve and share knowledge in an easy and standard way.
