Abstract
The state of the art in distributed simulation is described and the current challenge and requirement for distributed simulation are discussed. A simulation framework based on service-oriented architecture is proposed for its virtues in achieving simulation composability. Three component-based software engineering technologies for constructing service-oriented simulation platform are compared. As a case, multi-tier model architecture for navy warfare simulation is proposed and the simulation platform is established according to Java EE/EJB specification. The implementation and experiment of this simulation platform are expatiated in details.
