Abstract
The waveform of an audio file is the most employed representation of a song, being widely used in audio and video editors. However, besides the energy envelope, little information is provided. In this work we introduce a visual representation which, while resembling the waveform, takes into account the melodic content of the audio, thus allowing the user to visually segment and find patterns in the media more easily. We report experiments where it is shown that, in fact, more segmentation points can be found.
