Abstract

We propose a new robust method to solve problem of estimating human head orientation using Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG). The proposed method is able to estimate orientation of the head with a camera even though when a user is not facing the camera. With this method, a head orientation and its rotation can be estimated precisely in all three axes: roll, yaw, pitch.
