Abstract
Game-based learning is becoming a popular academic necessity for the 21st century education. However, many challenges and obstacles are still facing facilitators to fully incorporate games into the educational processes and how to efficiently deliver the games to the students. This paper introduces the Apache Pivot as a simplified environment for developing casual learning games. Two steps have been taken to demonstrate the simplicity of using the Pivot environment for building educational games. The first involves the development of generic dashboard that can be used by the second step to generate specific educational games like the learning crossword.
