Abstract

We present a theoretical method in order to trace the complex transmission zero (TZ) locations of dielectric-loaded lumped systems, by using chain matrices for subsystems, obtained from the whole system by partitioning into several parts. By deriving the closed-form expressions of transmission zero characteristic equation (TZCE), in terms of impedances of elements. We prove an important result that integer pairs of complex zeros are shown to result solely from the cross-coupled portion of the system. We can locate TZs using only the TZCE obtained from canonical transfer functions, without evaluating the entire transfer function of the whole system.
