Abstract

Clustering is an energy efficient techniques that extends the network’s lifespan, and routing is an efficient techniques that reduces the communication delay and balances the network traffic loads. In this paper, we propose and analyze an Adaptive Virtual Area Partition Clustering Routing protocol using Ant Colony Optimization (AVAPCR-ACO), a protocol that clusters the network field adaptively, then uses ant colony optimization to build a routing path among cluster heads. The simulation results show that AVAPCR-ACO can improve system lifetime obviously.
