Abstract

The transition of an enterprise from national currency to the euro is a very large and complex project. The main share of the costs is IT-related. Key points are the migration of application programs and data. In this paper we discuss different strategies for euro migration and look at the migration of large databases and files with currency data using a data wrapper. The requirements for such a tool are examined and then compared to the Euro Middleware Support tool. We conclude with a summary of practical experiences.
