Zusammenfassung

Eine besondere Domäne für Embedded Linux sind Gateways zwischen Industriesteuerungen und dem Web. Hierfür sind die Echtzeiterweiterungen auf der einen Seite und die hervorragenden Netzwerkeigenschaften auf der anderen Seite gute Voraussetzungen. Anhand zweier konkreter Anwendungen sollen die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen aufgezeigt werden, die mit dem Einsatz eines derartigen Betriebssystems verbunden sind. Die Anwendungen unterscheiden sich insbesondere durch unterschiedliche Echtzeitanforderungen.
