Zusammenfassung
Die Bedürfnisse von Forschern haben in der Vergangenheit entscheidend zur Entwicklung der Multimediatechnik beigetragen. Vom Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Forschung (MWF) des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen wurde dieser Tatsache durch Einrichtung des Forschungsverbundes ”Die Virtuelle Wissensfabrik” Rechnung getragen. Dem Forschungsverbund liegt die Beobachtung zugrunde, daß Gegenstand von Forschung die Produktion von Wissen ist. Der Verbund gliedert sich in drei Themenfelder: Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion, Informationsstrukturierung und -vermittlung sowie Kommunikation und Kooperation. Der Verbund setzt sich aus 16 Projekten zusammen, die nach inhaltlichen Gesichtspunkten diesen drei Gebieten zugeordnet sind und in diesem Rahmen enge Wechselwirkung haben. Iin diesem Beitrag wind eine Übersicht zu den Arbeiten gegeben, die in den drei Schwerpunkten stattfinden.
