Summary
Continuous simulation of technical systems is performed by the evaluation of mathematical models, which describe the properties of physical systems. If you treat practical systems normally the parameter values to obtain a desired system performance are not known. If a straightforward calculation is impossible or impractical, these values have to be found by optimization. Generelly only an approximization with known deviation to the desired system function is possible and necessary. The success of the optimization depends on the properties of the system, the selected method, the number of variable parameters and on the experience of the model designer. The desired goal is reached faster, if a systematic and efficient optimization method is selected. The overall effort can be reduced considerably if a existing simulation language is used. In this paper parameteroptimization for a simple system ist described. All advantages of the selected interactive simulation language (ACSL, /1/) are retained, illustrating the power of the presently available simulation tools.
