Summary
The basis of the fault tolerant information system DELTA are the industry stand-ards UNIXTM and MC68000TM.
The operating system DELTA-PPX is a compatible but enhanced version of System-III, which supports fault tolerance. The hardware is based on members of the Motorola Microprocessor family MC68000. A couple of these processors with dedicate functionality form a cluster, which is the basic building block of the DELTA system. The fault of a single cluster does not effect the availability of the whole system and all programs continue to perform.
