Zusammenfassung
Numerische Simulationsmodelle stellen im Umweltbereich — im Schnittpunkt zahlreicher Wissenschaftsdisziplinen wie Ökologie, Raum- und Regionalplanung, und den Ingenieurwissenschaften mit dem politischen und sozio-ökonomischem Bereich — ein attraktives Forschungsund Planungsinstrument noch kaum auch nur andeutungsweise ausgeschöpfter Möglichkeiten dar. Der praktischen Anwendbarkeit dieses Instrumentariums stehen dabei zwei wesentlichen Gruppen von Problemen gegenüber, die einerseits Formulierung, Angemessenheit und Glaubwürdigkeit, und andererseits Interpretation und Kommunikation formaler Modelle betreffen.
