Abstract

During the last twenty years we have witnessed changes in working conditions in service industries (i.e. banking, insurance, etc.) more profound than at any time before. Furthermore, we know that the next ten years are going to bring changes even more profound. These changes are primarily due to the trivial fact that the only product within this sector is information. Without going into information technology to a great extent, we should like to summarize some aspects of the developments of information technology which appear most important to the job situation of clerks and middle managers.
