Abstract

McDonnell Douglas Electronics Company offers several types of display hardware for providing out-the-window scenes to flight crews training 1n aircraft simulators. Marketing personnel defined a need for a visual display offering everyone on the flight deck a uniform field of view of at least 40° vertical by 150° horizontal. Requirements included minimum feature resolution comparable to that provided by existing modular displays, and scene brightness meeting the highest values specified by the Federal Aviation Administration.
