Summary

Regulation of photosynthetic CO2-fixation is adequately characterized in experimental terms. However, theoretical understanding of the dynamics of photosynthesis is poor and should be aided by dynamic mathematical models. The biochemical basis, the mathematical formulation and the results of characteristic models of biochemical aspects of photosynthesis are reviewed , and problems to be attacked by future models are suggested.
