Summary

Efficient support of VLSI design requires designing aids for description and simulation at all design levels, but usually support is given for a subset of them only. It is shown, that it is possible to extend computer hardware description languages with module and delay concepts for design descriptions at circuit level using an algorithmic language level and introducing behavioral models for circuit components within existing discrete simulation systems.
