Zusammenfassung

Informatik ist seit vielen Jahren schon eine Schlüsseldisziplin der Elektro-Industrie. Besonders schnell wächst die Bedeutung des Teil- bereichs der wissensbasierten Systeme. Das wird an den Beispielen der Automation im Büro, in der Fabrik und im Krankenhaus erläutert. Die Gründe für den Einsatz wissensbasierter Systeme sowie die Trends für die Zukunft werden aufgezeigt, und auf die besondere Rolle, die der Industrieforschung hierbei zukommt, wird eingegangen.
