Zusammenfassung

Die stark wachsenden Anforderungen an die Lösung mathematischer und technischer Probleme sorgte für eine zunehmende Spezialisierung der benutzten Rechnersysteme. Um weiterhin eine Kommunikation der unterschiedlichen Rechnersysteme untereinander zu ermöglichen, besteht die Notwendigkeit, die einzelnen Maschinen zu vernetzen.
