Ziel des Workshops „Multimedia-Systeme“ ist es, aktuelle Forschungs- und Entwicklungsergebnisse im Bereich der Multimedia-und Internet-Technologien vorzustellen, Erfahrungen auszutauschen und offene Probleme zu diskutieren. Der Workshop gliedert sich dabei in die zwei Teilbereiche „Multimedia-Systeme in Wissenschaft und Technik“ und „Multimedia-Datenbanken und -Informations- systeme“.
