Abstract

In this paper an analysis and comparison of different simultaneously active flow control rules on hop and network access level is presented. The investigations base on a queueing network model representation of a store-and-forward node with finite buffer capacity as well as on a homogeneous network model. Beside the presentation of different system performance values using known flow control rules, two new dynamic rules are developed and analysed in detail.
