Ausgehend von einer historischen Begründung für die Vorteile der Kooperation von Wissenschaftlern über Raum und Zeit werden einige erfolgreiche Verbundsysteme vorgesteilt. Neben einer Übersicht der Kosten und Nutzeffekte eines raschen Informationsaustauschs folgt eine Analyse der noch bestehenden Grenzen für die Telekooperation.
