Abstract
ProMInanD’s migration system deals with office tasks consisting of steps to be carried out by persons playing office roles. This kind of cooperation is supported by migrating office processes which in ProMInanD are represented by Electronic Circulation Folders (ECF). Instantiations of task related types of ECF’s migrate automatically through an office organization. The migration specification of an ECF describes the steps to be performed, their possible sequences and the roles which have to be played for their performance. However, in real life offices a strong need exists for deviations from predefined migration routes and for exception handling.
This paper is an outcome of the Project ProMInanD — Extended Office Process Migration with Interactive Panel Displays. ProMInanD is supported in part by ESPRIT — European Strategic Programme for Research and Development in Information Technologies.
