Zusammenfassung

Als Bestandteil des Systems GINA (Generische Interaktive Anwendung) wurde ein Interface Builder entwickelt, ein Werkzeug, mit dem interaktiv graphische Benutzeroberflächen auf Basis von OSF/Motif erstellt werden können. Der Interface Builder setzt konsequent Techniken der direkten Manipulation zur Beschleunigung des Definitionsprozesses und zur Unterstützung des explorativen Lernens ein. Er unterstützt besonders die dynamischen Layout-Fähigkeiten von Motif. Der Interface Builder erleichtert den Umgang mit dem Form-Widget durch ein einfacheres Linealmodell, das intern auf die Motif-Mechanismen abgebildet wird. Außerdem kann er aus einer ungenauen Lagevorgabe automatisch Parameter für ein dynamisches Layout der Komponenten generieren.
