Zusammenfassung

The state of the art of numerical approaches to diffusion-limited crystal growth is reviewed. Recent numerical results on scaling laws and growth morphologies in dendritic growth and directional solidification, on secondary instabilities in lamellar eutectic growth, and on the transition to chaos in directional solidification are reported. Questions for future work and possible extensions or improvements of the current numerical methods are discussed.
