Abstract

LUX is an explanation system which enables the knowledge engineer to describe domain knowledge and problem solving knowledge in different ways. The knowledge engineer may provide special explanation texts for both types of knowledge. Default explanation texts are supported in the case that no other explanation is available. Additionally LUX offers the possibility to define different user types providing each user group with different explanations. The knowledge engineer may also create an explanation inference net where only the important steps of the problem solution steps are recorded.
