Zusammenfassung
Die Entwicklung moderner Technologie ist aus der ersten Phase, bei der es im wesentlichen darum ging, funktionstüchtige und benutzbare Systeme zu erstellen, herausgewachsen und in die zweite Phase eingetreten mit dem Anspruch, nicht nur funktionstüchtige Systeme, sondern auch benutzungsgerechte Systeme zu gestalten (Klotz 1991). Die Forschung auf dem Gebiet der benutzungsgerechten Systemgestaltung wurde zunächst maßgeblich im anglo-amerikanischen Raum betrieben (Martin 1973). Die ersten Übersichtsarbeiten erschienen Anfang der 80er Jahre (Ramsey & Atwood 1979; Shackel 1979; Eason 1981), erste Leitfäden mit konkreten Gestaltungshinweisen folgten (Smith & Aucella 1982; Spinas, Troy & Ulich 1983; Smith & Mosier 1986). Seitdem ist die Forschung zum Bereich Mensch-Computer Interaktion (“human computer interaction”) international etabliert. Die Ergebnisse dieses Forschungsgebietes sind zum Teil in nationale Normen (zB. DIN 66 234; Dzida, Herda & Itzfeldt 1978), bzw. neuerdings in internationale Normungsaktivitäten (zB. ISO 9241) eingegangen (Jüptner 1991).
Der vorliegende Beitrag entstand im Rahmen des Forschungsprojekt BOSS — Benutzer-orientierte Softwareentwicklung und Schnittstellengestaltung (Förderkennzeichen 01 HK 706–0), das vom BMFT (AuT-Programm) gefördert wird.
