Abstract

Over the past few years, research in the area of real time (RT) protocols for distributed systems has progressed to the point where a fairly large number of multiple access Local Area Network (LAN) protocols have been proposed.

This work was made while the author was on sabbatical leave at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of California, Irvine, with grants from INESC and FLAD — Fundação Luso—Americana para o Desenvolvimento
