An International Neurology Database Link, Allowing Global Research Queries Across Languages

Abstract

An epilepsy database has been ported from a US clinic to a german one. The use of consistent terminology and a common view of the database in both institutions allow medical research to be based on the common data pool. Key problems of the database portation are described and automated mechanisms for the sharing of data are presented.
