Abstract
This paper describes a project undertaken by Plymouth Health Authority with support from the author. The special needs and requirements of mental health services have been studied, and a networked integrated patient-based information system has been designed and is now being implemented. It is intended to ensure quality of service, optimum use of resources, and management control of a dispersed service.
