Abstract
In this paper a Data Base Management System (DBMS) suitable for handling the clinical data of an Obstetrics Departement is presented. This system was developed and is being used at the Obstetrics Service of the Oporto S. João Hospital (main Oporto Hospital). The DBMS structure as well as the method used to introduce and search the data, are described. This system has already brought important benefits to the departmental organization.
