Abstract
There is a need to integrate image data held in digitised format in radiological departments with the textual data concerning patients which forms part of a computerised hospital information system. Currently multidatabase systems allow record-based textual data from different locations to be integrated. This approach is extended in the MIDAM system, the architecture of which is presented in this paper.
