Abstract

The object oriented C++ programming of medical real time systems which communicate with periferal equipment in a complex non-standard way is described. Apart from traditional structural programming the object-oriented approach provides better flexibility and time characteristics, easier debugging, requires less assembler language usage. The developed software can work in the heavy duty real time systems because its average hardware event servicing time makes approximately 75 μs on 10 MHz IBM PC AT. It can be easily configurated to necessary sizers of buffers and queues and to the most suitable timer interrups frequency.
