GENESIS: An Object-Oriented Framework for Simulation of Neural Network Models

  • Conference paper
Artificial Neural Nets and Genetic Algorithms

Abstract

In this paper we present GENESIS as a highly flexible and graphical environment for simulating ANN based on the object-oriented paradigm. This includes a hierarchy of classes that models ANNs being characterized by a high degree of modularity. The use of object-oriented techniques provides the data abstraction facilities necessary to support modification and extension of the simulation system at a high level of abstraction, from a graphic user interface.. Furthermore, ANN specification is suitable for joining networks in a neural macro-structure.
