Abstract

This is a position paper to share an approach to be taken by the researcher in a research on studying a less successful implementation of electronic portfolio system (e-Portfolio) at a public university in Malaysia. The research will use Action Research as she is a member of the said university and was involved with the e-Portfolio project from its inception. In addition, the Activity Theory is chosen as a research lens to serve as the theoretical underpinning to explain the phenomenon. The findings from this research is expected to benefit the university management in the form of a working framework on e-Portfolio while also contributing to the service innovation body of knowledge.
