Abstract

Aiming at the severe effect of coverage hole induced by the limited energy and the harsh deployment environment of wireless sensor network (WSN) on network lifetime, an optimized energy-efficient-connected target coverage heuristic (OECCH) algorithm with lightweight is presented. Based on the analysis of contribution to coverage, the sensor nodes are classified to achieve different functions, then an intersection cover set is constructed based on heuristic values, so as to maximize the network lifetime. Simulation results indicate that OECCH can prolong network lifetime while reducing computation overhead of WSN obviously.
